Required CE Hours for Renewal
Resident Producer (Life, Accident & Health, Property, Casualty, or Personal Lines)
- Shall be required to complete 24 credit hours of NH approved Continuing Education (CE) every 2 years. Of the 24 credits, a minimum of 3 credits but no more than 10 credits; shall be an approved ethics courses.
Adjusters (Multi-Line Adjusters, Worker's Compensation Adjusters, and Non-Resident Adjusters)
- Must meet the requirement of 24 total credit hours- 3 of those must be adjuster ethics.
- Those with Worker's compensation authority have a minimum of 10 worker's comp credit requirement.
Public Adusters
- Public Adjusters are required to complete 15 total credit hours of which 3 must be an approved ethics course
- Non-Resident Public Adjusters without a CE requirement in their resident state must complete a total of 15 credit hours, 3 ethics credits hours of NH approved continuing education

Special Training/Education Requirements (LTC, Flood, Ethics, others)

Flood Insurance Training
- Must complete a one-time course related to NFIP which will provide 3 hours of continuing education credit.

Annuity Training
- An insurance producer who engages in the sale of annuity products shall complete a one-time 4 credit training course approved by the insurance department and provided by an insurance department approved education provider.

Long Term Care Training
- An individual may not sell, solicit or negotiate long-term care insurance unless:
- The individual is licensed as an insurance producer for Accident and Health or sickness or under the Life line of authority
- Has completed a one-time training course prior to selling, soliciting or negotiating a Long Term Care policy certified as a Qualified Partnership.
- To continue to remain qualified to sell this product, the producer must receive ongoing training every 24 months thereafter.
- The one time training course shall be no less than 8 hours and the ongoing training shall be no less than 4 hours.

Exemptions
- Resident
- All resident licensees who have passed the appropriate NH exam to become licensed and who are renewing a license for the first time are exempt from CE.
- Non-Resident Producers
- No CE is required for non-resident producers.
- Non-Resident Adjusters
- If a nonresident licensee has complied with the continuing education requirements of his or her state of residence or designated home state, he or she will not be required to comply with the requirements of this state.
- NH has removed the CE requirement for non-resident adjusters unless the licensee designates NH as their “home state”.

Certificate of Completion
To get your certificate of completion, log in to our website using your username and password. Then, look at the menu on the left and find "Course History." Your course history will list the courses you passed or failed. If you passed a course, you'll see a "Print certificate" button on the right, allowing you to print your certificate for your records.

How are Hours Reported
We report your credits through SBS, a state-approved third party vendor, within one business day (except holidays, reporting will be done on next business day). The department receives the credits from SBS and recognizes the date you passed/completed the exam as the date of completion. It is not based upon the day we report the hours to them.

Course Repetition
A course cannot be repeated for credit within a compliance cycle. Credit from courses repeated within the cycle will only be awarded once towards your requirement.

Carry-over Hours
Excess hours accumulated during compliance cycle may not be carried forward to the next compliance cycle.
